Clare Pollard & Peter Kay
Peter romantically proposed to Clare in March 2016 whilst skiing in France surrounded by snowy mountains. Planning began as soon as they returned home with mum & dad chief planners for the big event!
Sutton Bonnington Hall was the first venue they visited and both instantly fell in love with it's intimate and exclusive feel for their smaller wedding. St Michael's Church was conveniently right next to the venue which made it even more perfect as they both really wanted to tie the knot in a church!
The delicious food was provided by Coughlan's which Clare thoroughly enjoying tasting all of before choosing what to have! The guests all enjoyed chicken or beef with champagne and canapes served in the garden. The theme was birds, butterflies and vintage (bunting / bird cages as our centrepieces / paper lanterns with vintage butterflies/lanterns with fairy lights/a vintage step ladder tableplan). The wedding breakfast was in the conservatory, with the backdrop of beautiful jasmine and fairy lights. There were also lights on the ornate trees in the garden making the whole place look magical! The flowers were natural and more 'wild' looking - Rebecca at Floral Deco in Nottingham supplied all of the beautiful flowers with coral Peonies. She made a beautiful arrangement for the bottom of the wooden staircase and a planter arrangement for the church. The 3 bridesmaids dressed in coral Dessy gowns, wanted a vibrant summer colour which was a floaty long gown. Clare's mum made flower hair vines for them all! Suits were always going to be blue - again, they wanted a more vibrant blue as a contrast to the coral. The men all looked fab in their tails... with coral button holes to match! The suits were from RS Bridal Collection provided by the hire company Peter Posh in the lovely style 'Lydbury'.
Clare's stunning dress was by Mori Lee; she tried on many dresses but felt an instant connection to this pretty princess style which looks even more incredible with her long veil. Clare surprised peter with a Ferrari to take him to the church which he loved and her bridesmaids surprised her with a fabulous album which brought everyone to tears!
On the day, the girls, clare & her Mum got ready at the hall in Lady Elton's room. Clare felt really calm in the morning - the rain stayed away and it was warm which helped!
Make up was done by - Paula Tennant
Hair was by her usual hairdresser Liz Singh who owns Twisted Sisters salon in NottinghamShe wore a handmade hair vine by Amanda Caroline Couture.
The bridesmaids helped
clare into the dress, then she finally started feeling some nerves!
One of her favourite moments of the day is when herDad opened the door to the room where she was stood upstairs and he coudnt speak apart from say 'wow' and then was so emotional which made her start, as they gave each other a hug and kiss.
They then walked down the staircase, ready to leave the hall in the vintage car (and bundle the huge dress into the car!)
The bridesmaids helped carry the dress towards the church - it was a windy day and her veil was blowing around everywhere!
They also had a musician, Matt James who is a guitarist and wedding singer, learn a song for us to sing as Clare walked down the aisle. He also played accoustic during the reception drinks and canapes in the garden.
As Clare got to Peter, he told her how beautiful she looked and she felt herself relax a little more!
The service was , in clare's words 'perfect.' They had 3 readings by our family members and The choir sang for them as they signed the register.
Then they did a confetti line outside the church which was funny as Peter's Dad ended up accidently throwing my mums handmade confetti cone at Clare and another guest lost their cone in the wind too - the slow motion shot on the film captured everything wonderfully!
The car (by A&C Vintage cars) took the newlyweds for a short ride before arriving at the hall.

Straight after the first dance to Tom odell's Real Love Clare and her dad surprised everyone by dancing to uptown funk!! Clare's brother Chris was our master of ceremonies. He lives in Thailand so was really special to have him there. He was just about to announce sparklers on the lawn and Queen, dont stop me know came on, Chris starts singing into the mic, then everyone ended up doing a tag team karaoke to the whole song with everyone dancing and singing along!
The sparklers were a fab way to nearly end the night, they all did a sparkler line and Peter and Clare walked down the middle! After some final dancing, the day was over!
"What an amazing day it was! I was so sad to take the dress off, I thought it would feel heavier by the end of the day but it was absolutely fine. "
