BEKKIE & PETE’S LOVE STORY

Bekkie and Pete first Met  7 years ago, in Mallorca on 4th sept 2010 on holiday. After going their separate ways, fate would have it that almost a whole year later they would meet again in Mallorca!  They finally had their first date and ‘instantly fell in love!’ After Pete proposed in Florida, they knew it made sense to tie the knot in their place- Mallorca!

They found the stunning venue by simply googling the island, but after originally wanting a beach wedding, they found Son Marroig (a museum by day & former mansion of Archduke Luis Salvado) As you can see in the pictures, the ceremony was in a unique spot over a cliffs edge, with a beautiful garden and terrace which was use during the meal.

Bekkie and Pete married on Sept 4th, exactly 7 Years to the day they met!

Bekkie got her beautiful Essense of Australia Dress from RS Bridal in the summer of 2016 and it couldn’t be further from what she originally wanted! After originally looking for a lace boho style, she finally chose this sleek satin fishtail and styled it with a gorgeous crown and simple veil. Bekkie expressed her gratitude to Paul at The Fitting room who was the one to make her dream dress fit perfectly- his knowledge and attention to detail were ‘invaluable’ to her.

9 years ago she met Ian, a friend of hers, whilst working on a ship together, since then it had been a dream of hers to have  him sing her down the Aisle. Pete chose the song “She” by Elvis Costello which made everybody cry! This was a huge comfort to Bekkie and it really calmed her nerves knowing everyone was as emotional as she was. Her bridesmaid Leyla and partner Joe sang “we found love” for the guests too, during the cocktails and canapes. These personal touches made the day even more special!

The wedding rings were purchased during a 3 week adventure round Africa for Bekkies 30th birthday! The rings are from Cape town, just one of the many places this couple have visited around the world!

When planning the wedding they always knew they would have a big wedding party as they have so many friends and family! Bekkie’s bestfriend of 20 years was her maid of honour, then her 5 bridesmaids were her sister & 4 closest friends. Bravely, she let them all shop for their own dresses as they are all so different from on another. There were also 2 flower girls who looked adorable in matching Ivory dresses.

Pete’s groomsmen were his now Brother-In-law and his 4 best friends. They all looked extremely handsome in monochrome suits which was all his idea-the only thing he had to arrange was done very well, phew!!!

With it being a destination wedding a wedding planner was vital to the day running smoothly, they chose Sara Kilinkenberg who recommended everything and even found the MUA Marta Lula. The couple enjoy fine food so they knew they wanted something extra special on the big day. Sara found Marc Fosh, a michelin star chef who provided the food for the day, which everyone was blown away by. ( to anyone getting married in Mallorca, Bekkie & Pete highly recommend!!)

The theme of the wedding was travel, as the couple are always (or seem to be) on holiday or exploring somewhere new! For this they had passport style wedding invites and hand made finishing touches including a map of the world seating plan, postcards of places they’ve visited and luggage tags for favours/name places.

Bekkie & Pete expressed their surprise at how wonderful it was to be on holiday with their closest friends and family which is again something they highly recommend as it made the whole time away even more special.

After a week in Mallorca the newly weds, Bekkie’s sister, maid of honour & partners boarded a ferry and spent a wild weekend partying in Ibiza! Once the partying was over the couple were finally alone to explore the island and have some much needed time together in the more peaceful parts of Ibiza. The big honeymoon has been booked for christmas and new year travelling the golden triangle of india & then to Rathambore’s National park to spot wild tigers. After this crazy 10 days they will fly to the Maldives for a week of relaxing and to introduce the New year in style as Mr & Mrs Davis.

“The biggest thankyou ever for my dream dress, your amazing advice & stocking some of the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever seen” -Bekkie Davis
